    How To Find Us

    By Car

While it is ideally situated for a get-away-from-it-all break, Talland Barton Holiday Cottage is easily accessible by road. Be aware, however, if you’re using a SatNav or mobile phone to find us, that our postcode, PL13 2JA, covers a wide area and you are best advised to switch it off when you get to Looe to avoid its sending you to the wrong side of Talland Bay. Follow these directions instead:

    • Take the A387 across the bridge at Looe and continue up the hill towards Polperro.
    • As the road flattens out and bends to the right, you will see a turning on your left, signposted Portlooe and Talland. Turn left here and follow the lane around to the left and continue for a few miles all the way down the single-track road until you start the downhill stretch towards the sea.
    • Just past the top entrance to “The Bay, Talland” development on your left, you will see the driveway to Talland Barton Holiday Cottage on your right.
    • Drive through the large green gate and, as you approach the main house, you will see steps going down on your left. These lead to the Holiday Cottage.

If you are not using a SatNav or your mobile phone, the easiest way to reach us is to:

    • Find your way to Exeter, then follow the A38 Devon Expressway to Plymouth (which is around 45 minutes’ drive from us) and then cross the Tamar Bridge into Cornwall.
    • Continue along the A38 through the villages of Landrake and Tideford, after which you come to a roundabout at Trerulefoot where you turn left on to the A374, signposted Looe (A387) and Torpoint.
    • A mile or so down the A374, you will see a turning to the right, signposted Looe (A387). Take this turning and continue to Looe. Then follow the directions above.

    By Train

The nearest main line station is at Liskeard and there is a branch line from there into Looe. We can arrange to pick you up from the station if necessary or advise you of a local taxi. Click here to view our “Local Information” page, which has comprehensive details of public transport in the area and links to timetables.

    By Air

Newquay Airport is some 45 minutes’ drive away from Talland and enjoys regular services to and from a large number of British and Irish airports. (Flights also operate from Spanish, Portuguese and German airports in spring and summer.) Click here for flight information.
